You walk around the department store to test drive shoes, why not do the same for clothes? Sit, twist, bend, reach up-test the fit and comfort of clothes you're considering buying, if it doesn't pass the test, put it back ont he hanger.

If you live near a college campus look up the talent that will be playing at the school or the local coffee house. Usually the events are free or super low cost.

Swinging into the coffee shop every morning for your fancy brew can set you back an average of $20 every week. Instead make your coffee at home and carry it in a fancy travel mug. You could save up to $1,000 per year. OMG, that's a vacation. With that kind of savings you could buy a $10 frother and try a new coffee flavor every week and still save big.

Celebrity cosmetic dentist, Dr. Kevin Sands suggests chewing xylitol sugarless gum immediately after eating or drinking stain causing foods or beverages such as dark berries, red wine, and/or coffee. It can help keep stains at bay by promoting saliva flow before stains have a chance to set. An added benefit is that xylitol has been shown to help prevent decay.

When's the last time you played a board game with your husband? Turn off the TV, play your favorite list on the iPod and challenge him to Scrabble, Backagammon or even Boggle. Just do it. Face each other rather than the TV.

Make your overnight guests feel welcome by outfitting the nightstand like a wonderful destination hotel.  Include local magazines, locally made candy (or a basket of a locally grown fruit), stamped postcards of local attractions.  If you really like them, a robe and slippers are a nice addition as well. -Tricia

Rather than buying a full set of tea-cups at once, get them one at a time choosing on common theme (in my case I chose all white).  They will have different shapes and patterns, which is fun and will keep a tea party from looking too formal (whimsy is so much more sociable). -Tricia

Grow nasturtium or pansies in a window box or in a planter on your windowsill.  They grow easily from seed, are colorful and edible.  You can add them to salads, put them on cakes, even grill them in a panini (if your bread is thin enough you will see them through the bread, I have done this with basil leaves, too, it is pretty). -Tricia

Use table place-setting cards at your party, but rather than writing names, write "the comedian", "the politician", "the philosopher" and so on.  Let your Friends try to figure out for themselves who "they" are ( it is also fun to see who they think each other is, too).-Tricia
